Caveat removed, fight goes on

THE Collingwood and Abbotsford Residents' Association has withdrawn its caveat on the northern section of the Abbotsford Convent on the banks of the Yarra River.

The association spokeswoman Charlotte Allen said the community, as a sign of its willingness to work with the government, had removed the caveat on the site. She said the group would use all legitimate means, including legal action, to stop high-rise development on the site and to protect the car park (currently used by the Collingwood Children's Farm) and open space.
