CAG writes to Councillor Kay Meadows, Mayor City of Yarra regarding the report Inner Urban Conservation and Development; communication from the City of Yarra with the Minister for Planning; State Government emergency planning for Councils; City of Yarra's commitment to public consultation; and the role of community groups in significant planning applications. The letter sought inter alia a formal response from Council re the expert report Inner Urban Conservation and Redevelopment; copies of Council correspondence with the Minister for Planning re the planning application; Council's contingency plans should the applicant appeal to VCAT; and the immediate implementation by Council of a public consultation strategy to keep the 1500 objectors and broader community informed of progress.
