LOCAL MP WYNNE WRITES TO COMMUNITY ON MINISTERIAL CALL IN OF BANCO'S PLANS
Wynne responds to CAG E-Petitions saying Planning Minister Hulls agreed with his request to call in Banco's plans, and advising the Minister's appointment of a panel to concurrently consider the plans and Yarra's Smith Street Interim Structure Plan.
Dear Sir / Madam,
Minister calls in Smith St, Collingwood planning application PL03/1407 (Banco site), and Interim Structure Plan for the precinct.
Further to my correspondence with you yesterday, I am now writing to tell you that Minister Hulls has responded to my representations of your views on this application.
I wrote to the Minister asking that he "call-in" this matter in accordance with his powers under the Planning and Environment Act. He has agreed to do so.
The Minister will:
1. appoint a Priority Development Panel to consider the Interim Structure Plan and
2. consider the Banco application PL03/1407 concurrently in the context of that Interim Structure Plan.
The Minister has indicated he hopes the Priority Development Panel will result in a compromise between the developer and community. Once again, please don't hesitate to contact me if you need more information.
yours faithfully,
Richard Wynne
State Member for Richmond.
